Influenster sent me the Frosty VoxBox for FREE to review here! My thoughts below the jump:
The Frosty VoxBox included wintery and beauty products. I was super jazzed to get it! The VoxBoxes always have a great value for the effort I am expected to put into reviewing (filling out a survey about your experience is required and completing blog reviews is optional, but can earn more VoxBoxes!) They sometimes have a better value than boxes I pay for, and this one is no exception; this box was worth around $30.
Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (full size $4 value) – This was nice and gentle. It promises to work on waterproof makeup, and it really seemed to do a nice job. This brand is NOT cruelty-free.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in black (full size $4 value) – This has a really soft consistency, meant to glide on easily. I feel like it stayed that consistency rather than drying. It smudged nicely, but I actually felt like it was TOO dark on, bordering on messy. For a rockstar look, this would be great. It’s not something I’d wear to work, but that’s my workplace! This brand is NOT cruelty-free.
NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum (full size $2 value) – This shade is a warm, dark mauve with some frost. I like it about a million times more than I expected to! The texture is less gritty than most frost lippies go. It’s a shade I never would’ve picked for myself, but it looks really nice on me. This brand is NOT cruelty-free.
Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea (one packet) – I didn’t try this because I just don’t like mint teas.
McCormick Gourmet All-Natural Thyme (full size $5-$10 value) – I haven’t actually seen the exact product I received anywhere yet (it’s not even what’s pictured on their site), so this may be new. Smells lovely.
Fruit Vines Bites in Strawberry (full size $2.50ish value) – THESE ARE SO YUMMY. They’re from the makers of Red Vines, so I expected them to be kind of tough–they’re actually super soft and squishy. A very nice strawberry candy flavour that’s not too sweet. I’m going to end up buying these again!
Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum (sample packet) – I didn’t use this since it’s meant to be used multiple times to get any effect. It claims to be anti-aging.
EcoTools Sleek + Shine Finisher Brush (full size $10.99 value) – I was so excited to get this! It’s definitely meant to be a finishing brush–it doesn’t push all the way through my really thick hair to detangle completely. What it does do is leave my hair feeling super silky. I like the open design of the brush, which makes it good for brushing while blowdrying. The site claims to use eco-friendly materials, but fails to really explain exactly what. The bristles are synthetic (they have a foul chemical smell up close–I’m writing them about this!), the handle is bamboo and their site purports that some of their plastics and metals are recycled. At any rate, as a finishing brush, this is amazing!
