For anyone unfamiliar with Naturebox, it’s a “healthy” (they have dietitians and nutritionists on staff), “natural” snack sampler of 5, 10 or 20 4oz bags of nuts, seeds, granola and dried fruit. I think the concept is pretty neat–you get snacks mailed once a month and you have the option to buy more of what you love from the site. The sample includes several (3-6) serving sizes per box for $19.95, and I think that’s a decent value (but honestly, I graze at these snacks, so I anticipate them lasting a while). They offer vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO and nut-free options with a promise of avoiding HFCS, trans fats/partially hydrogenated oils or artificial colours/sweeteners/flavors. Well thanks, Naturebox.
You have the option of choosing all, some or none of your products. They’ll send random snacks if you don’t choose! There are a whopping 95 different snack options to choose from, which makes it pretty promising as a long-term subscription. I know they add new products often, as well.
For our first box, I chose Sweet Blueberry Almonds, Yogurt Dipped Pretzels, Praline Pumpkin Seeds, Dried Pears and Salted Caramel Pretzel Pops. (A lot of their options are much more thrilling, but I’m a little picky.)
The Overall: This is a really great value if you choose your panty wisely or like the convenience of having it just come to your door once a month. At around $4 per bag, some items with naturally be a better value than others. Since I’m very picky about my snacks, I don’t think I’d trust the selection to their random choices, but for “normal” folks, I bet it would be just fine. I HAVE heard some people complain that their items came a bit stale, but that was before they changed the way they handle the pantry, so I’m assuming this issue is now solved.
