2008 – PRESENT // The very definition of wearing “many hats.”

TOPS Lexington

It all started with a college internship. I was given an opportunity to write a cover story, and I knew I was forever hooked by the world of print publishing.

Despite having no graphic design experience, I became the lead designer of a college-targeted magazine. From there, I took on more duties and eventually became head writer, graphic designer, and production manager for the monthly TOPS in Lexington magazine.

One of my favorite duties? Designing the covers. I have done several over the years, but I have been lucky to be entrusted with every one since April 2020. (Check ’em out.)

Serving as the Vice President of Production, I have the privilege of coordinating with freelance writers and photographers to make our magazine happen. As a member of the TOPS editorial team, I frequently conceptualize stories for the magazine from start to finish. Copy editing is an important piece of ensuring a consistent brand voice in an error-free publication.

As a small business, TOPS team members often are asked to wear “many hats.” From fixing the copier to helping plan our issue launch parties, I am happy to pitch in wherever I’m needed.
